INTERVIEW: BBC HOST NICKY CAMPBELL PROBES THE INFILTRATOR’S MIND (EPISODE 2)

Episode 2 takes you deeper into what you can expect if you chose to become a long-term undercover agent within the underworld. BBC host NICKY CAMPBELL probes what it was like to be asked by my cartel “friends” to kill for them, and how they shared secrets with me about corrupting country leaders that facilitated their massive drug trafficking empires.

During this episode, I explain how my journey within the “underground empire” of crime opened my eyes to the reality that laundering billions is not a challenge for powerful cartels, even today. The reality is that governments around the world fail to identify and seize more than 1% of the $400 billion in illicit funds generated from the sale of illegal drugs each year.

NICKY also got me to answer the question that defines my view of the value of what I did as an undercover agent. He asked, “If the clock were turned back to the day you decided to become a long-term undercover agent, would you do it again?” Click on the image to the left to hear my response, and the rest of Episode 2. INTERVIEW: BBC HOST NICKY CAMPBELL EXPLORES THE TRAUMA OF LIFE IN DEEP COVER (Episode 1)

I invite you to fanaticized about how your life would have changed if you chose to operate in deep cover? Let go of the “Oh, I would never do that”, because there are times when you will sense a calling to choose a road less traveled to support a greater good. Most likely, this journey would have done the same thing to you that it did to me. Thanks to questions posed by BBC radio host NICKY CAMPBELL, this interview opens your eyes to what your life as 007 would have been.

During the first of this 2 Episode interview, I reveal how I was selected to work undercover, how I was trained, and how I put those skills to use establishing rapport with some of the deadliest organized crime figures in the world.

It may seem strange, but there are emotional tolls you will pay to do this type of work, and there are ordeals, like testifying in one trial alone for 3 solid months, that you had better be prepared to endure. You also need to anticipate that fateful day when you are told that the most powerful drug cartel in the world has issued a contact on your life, especially since you have witnessed how horrifically they torture and kill their enemies.

Watch for Episode 2 next week to hear how cartels routinely compromise leaders of countries, and why it is so easy for the underworld to launder $2 trillion a year.

WHITEPAPER: A NEW TOOL TO IDENTIFY INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LAUNDERING

There is something simple we can do to ebb the tide of money laundering investigations resulting in nothing more than bank shareholders financing the institution’s payment of massive fines. The truth is, we rarely figure out the “who done it” when tens of billions in illicit funds are laundered. I have prepared a whitepaper for those interested in reducing financial crime and fighting money laundering. I hope to find leaders in the law enforcement, regulatory, and banking sector willing to form a committee to assess my proposal, attempt to craft it into a regulation, and offer it to legislators for enactment. Some will say this isn’t necessary, but if not this, what new idea can the committee develop that will make a difference. New ideas are desperately needed because business as usual is not making a difference.
